Silver Eagle Found After Two Clues

(FESTUS, Mo.,) The hunt for the Silver Eagle is over after Holly Shoults and Carla Roberts found it Tuesday Morning at Dotts Snider Memorial Park.

Shoults and Roberts found the Silver Eagle after just two clues had been given out along the black fence at the park. The first clue was "Happy" in reference to Happy Welch and the second clue was "tap" in reference to Main and Mill Brewing Company.

After those two clues, Roberts said it put them at the park where they found the Silver Eagle...

“In the Doty Snider Memorial Park that is located right across from the corner of the Main and Mill Restaurant.” Roberts said.

Shoults admitted that they almost overlooked the black box containing the Silver Eagle...

“I actually wasn’t even going to search the back of the fence,” Shoults said. “I was thinking usually it’s too obvious to right up next to a black fence like that, but then I looked up and it was there so that was exciting.”

Shoults and Roberts found the box containing the Silver Eagle in a spot where it was hidden a decade ago. They have been winners of the Silver Eagle on more than one occasion winning three times out of the last eight years.

KJFF station manager Kirk Mooney is responsible for hiding the Silver Eagle and giving out the prizes.

"You get four tickets to the Renaissance Festival in St. Louis in the middle of this month (September)," Mooney said. "In addition, you also get four box seat tickets for September 29th to the St. Louis Cardinals hosting the Milwaukee Brewers, and you get a free night at the St. Louis City Center Hotel."

Twin City Days begins this Thursday and Regional Radio will provide coverage of the weekend festivities.
